Performing the tasks of a data protection officer

The aim of the legislator adopting the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) having direct effect at the level of the European Union was to urge the persons managing personal data to pay special attention to their data protection activities, to the security of the controlled data, to keeping the records required by the legal regulations, and to providing a proper action plan for a potential data breach.  In order to promote such objectives, the legislator established the position of the data protection officer participating in the enforcement of such obligations, and in several cases, obliged the legal entities to employ data protection officers.

Within the frameworks of data protection officer assignments, we monitor the data protection activities of several partners on a daily basis, plan and optimise their practices, and we offer continuous consulting activities, and comprehensive legal representation in case of a potential data breach or authority request.

As a data protection officer, we act on behalf of our clients in communicating with the Hungarian National Authority for Data Protection and Freedom of Information, in increasing awareness at the workplace, in ensuring comprehensive compliance with data protection law, as well as in the management of potential data breaches, internal data processing and registration procedures.
